It is 6 weeks until the Mermaid 10km. I hope that training is going well.
Most runners entered in 2021 or earlier and some may have new circumstances that means that they are unable to take part.
If you are one of those people and you have family member or friend who will use your entry then email me their full details (Name, Address, DOB, Mobile, email address and where appropriate, club details) and will I do a swap free of charge. This facility is available until 13th April
I you are unable to take part, and don’t a friend to use your entry, then we have people on a waiting list that I can re-sell your place to. There is an EntryCentral charge of 50p to cover their cost of refunding your entry fee. This facility is available until 7th April.
You will receive a further email update on 8th/9th April.

Please find attached details for Friday’s Cross Country.
We had no idea how many entries we would get and the aim was to be as flexible as possible – so the initial plan to have 4 or more separate races was not necessary and we now have just a single event starting at 12.30.
Please remember we are only just easing out of full lockdown, so please read the instructions carefully so you understand where you can park and the procedures we have in place.
The aim is that you will ARRIVE, RUN & LEAVE, as quickly as possible, with as little close contact with others as possible.
The attached includes links for the overall results. Although we are having a combined start, the results will be as per the event that you entered at EntryCentral.
I will also email you your individual chip times later in the day.

Redcar Rugby Club XC Update - email sent 18:00 on 15th March to waiting list race entrants
Hi EveryoneI thought I had better give you an update on the latest situation.We have applied for a licence and I was hoping that we would have had it granted today. However, England Athletics and RunBritain are both waiting until consultation with Sport England/DCMS provides updated guidance (expected week commencing 22nd March) before granting new licences.I see no reason at this stage why we will not get a licence, but I don't want to turn your waiting list entries into real paid for ones until we actually have the licence. No licence, no insurance, no race!At this stage we only have 50 entries overall, which is disappointing. I am not sure if people are not keen, thinking it is too soon, or if they are waiting until the entries are fully opened, or are confused by the message on the entry site saying the races are full. Marking them as full is the only way that I can open the waiting list.If you have friends who might be interested, please encourage them to enter, ignoring the race full message.We are fully committed to going ahead, providing we get the licence regardless of entry numbers.If we get less than 100 entries, we will combine everyone into a single race with U13s finishing after 1 lap. More than 100, we will look at other options e.g. one female race and one male race. The rational will remain to limit the numbers on site and to condense the timetable, which is currently extended to allow runners from an earlier race to leave the venue before others arrive.Look out for another update and/or a request for payment next week.Cheers
