As there is a cycling event in Saltburn on 23rd June, I have made some enquiries regards travel advice for runners, see below:
I’d say for anybody travelling from Guisborough / East Cleveland direction to allow at least an extra 30 mins for their journey. Whilst it’s a rolling closure and we’ll do our best to keep things to a 10 – 15 min window sometimes this can get extended if the race breaks up although I would think people travelling to the five miler might be okay as the race will likely be on the first lap but I’d still leave plenty of time.
I’ve attached some key race timings for both the women’s and men’s races which gives an indication of what time the riders will be through different sections of the course. It’s worth noting this is based on the fastest anticipated time and therefore is only intended to be used as a rough guide as the cyclists may go slower, conditions might be windy etc which may slow the race.
If anybody is planning on doing the run then watching the cycling there is a free park and ride on from Kirkleatham Walled Garden, spaces can be booked here - https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/redcar-and-cleveland-borough-council

[RaceName] at Zetland Park, 22nd September
Hi [FirstName] [LastName]
This is your race number: [Bib #] – please have a note of it to help when you collect it.
If you are unable to run, there are two options:
First, transfer your entry to someone that you know – email me the following information about the new runner:
- Forename
- Surname
- DOB
- Gender
- Club & EA Number (if any)
- House Number & Street
- Town
- Postcode
- Mobile
There is no charge for this.
Second, if you don’t know someone to transfer your entry to, then we do have people on a waiting list, if I am able sell your number to the waiting list then I will refund your fee (less £1 to £2 to cover EntryCentral fees that we are unable to recover)
Please do NOT let anyone run with your number without letting me know in advance – I will accept swaps up to 7pm Wednesday 18th Sept..
Please read the attached document carefully it has ALL the info required about parking, number pick up on the day, baggage etc. I am always dismayed when runners ask questions that they would have known the answer to, if they had read it.
For those you that live locally, there is an opportunity to pick your number up on Saturday 21st from 10am to 2pm, again at Zetland Park.
If you are unable to run, please do NOT let anyone run with your number without letting me know in advance
Please run with your number pinned to the FRONT of your vest with FOUR pins, one in each corner. Please bring your own pins for this.

Harry Gamble-Thompson 20Ten – Race information
Hi [FirstName] [LastName]
This is your race number: [Bib #] – please have a note of it to help when you collect it.
You can collect your number from Redcar Cricket Club, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, TS10 5BZ from 8:45am onwards, the parking on Kirkleatham Street Carpark (opposite the Cricket Club) is free all day on Sunday.
The lap is exactly the same one as last year, however due to work being carried out in the tennis courts, we have had to shunt the start/finish round to the other side of the lake.
Following a conversation with one NMH member who is running on Sunday, regarding keeping a count of completed laps, I was inspired with the thought of giving every runner a “Tally Counter” as a “Medal”. (See the photographs at the end of the attached document). We will be giving these to runners at number collection, this is very much “tongue in cheek”, but should you be tempted to use it for the race I would suggest that you definitely do not hang it round your neck as you run!
If you are unable to run, please do NOT let anyone run with your number without letting me know in advance – I will accept swaps up to 6pm on Thursday.
Please run with your number pinned to the FRONT of your vest with FOUR pins, one in each corner.
Please wear your chip timing tags as shown in the attachment. When you have finished, please return the tags so that they can be reused. PLEASE KEEP THEM SEPARATE AND NOT PINNED TOGETHER when you place them in the basket.
Prizes will be awarded to 1st Man & Woman to finish in the 10 Mile and 20 Mile, followed by the best 15 age graded percentage performances from both distances combined, other than the first finishers (ie no more than one prize per runner)
