2021 Race Update - email sent 13:30 on 4th March to existing race entrants
2021 Update (4th March)
We reluctantly took the decision to cancel all our races for 2021 up to and including the Autumn 5k in September. This was mainly due to the uncertainties presented by Covid and difficulties in finding suitable dates, as we had to keep pushing back the start of our racing year. Also, we feel that the safety of runners and the general public would be compromised: as a by-product of the Covid situation many more people are walking their dogs and kids (including pushchairs) on our usual courses either on the “pink path” or in Locke Park – the resulting congestion increases the risk of collisions and conflicts.
This also includes the new Zetland half/full Marathon due to be held on 18th April 2021 – the new date for this is Sunday 5th June 2022.
Those people that have entries for these races including those deferred from last year, will automatically have their entries deferred to 2022, with the option a refund if should they request one.
This leaves the calendar clear to have different races at different venues as the easing of Covid restriction allow.
The first such opportunity will be on Good Friday, 2nd April – we will be staging a 5km event at Redcar Rugby Club in line with England Athletics stage 1 on the road map.
For further details and entry click here. Entries are being taken on a waiting list basis until such time as we are 100% certain of going ahead.
Note: General information updates that are emailed to all entrants will also be posted here
We are also planning to organise the Fox Rush 3km Time Trial on Friday 7th May, 7pm as a one off event, originally scheduled as a series back in October 2020.

Important news regarding Redcar Running Festival
Due to non covid related reason the date has been changed to 10th October 2021.
Again, those people that have entries for these races including those deferred from last year, who are unable to make the new date, can request that their entry to be deferred to 2022 or refunded.
Also due to redevelopment work in the Majuba Road area, the start and finish will need to be relocated, although the basic half marathon course will be the planned 2 laps of the out & back Majuba Road to Marske Coast Road, and the shorter races fitting inside this footprint. Further details to follow.
Finally we are very hopeful that we will be able to stage a 2 lap 5 mile race on Sunday 25th July - check back for further updates.
